Revolution Notes

Week 1
Gen. 12:1-5
1 The LORD had said to Abram, "Leave your country, your people and your father's household and go to the land I will show you.
2 "I will make you into a great nation
and I will bless you;
I will make your name great,
and you will be a blessing.
3 I will bless those who bless you,
and whoever curses you I will curse;
and all peoples on earth
will be blessed through you."
4 So Abram left, as the LORD had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Haran. 5 He took his wife Sarai, his nephew Lot, all the possessions they had accumulated and the people they had acquired in Haran, and they set out for the land of Canaan, and they arrived there.

-There is a formula for Revolution
-H3=revolution
-It starts in the HEAD
-Change your thinking
-Believe that the revolution will happen
-Eph. 2:10 For we are God's workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.
-listen to the right voice
-World says we can't
-God says we can
-World will say "Who are these people!?"
-Develops in our HEARTS
-God reached out first
-touched our heart
-we must touch other people's hearts
-Not to intimidate
-Takes place through our HANDS
-Do something!
-God did not bless us just to stand still
-Everything we have belongs to GOd
-Let it flow in so we can let it flow out
-We think that the blessing is just for us
-Stop worrying about what others have got
-Focus on what we have

Week 2

-We don't always get the "gifts" that we expect
-Makes us miss the real blessing

Matthew 1:18
This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.

-They were dreaming, planning, and hoping
-Something interrupted all that
-Something unexpected
-It happens to all of us
-We want to look at others and say, "They're better off than me."
-Reality is, unexpected events WILL happen

James 1:19
My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry

-Some of us get angry
-Some of us get depressed and quit

-STOP and think about what you're doing
-Joseph slept on it
-A lot of times we miss God's plan because we don't just stop and chill out
-LISTEN to the words of God
-Even if you stop but don't listen, you can still miss the blessing
-Gotta be in the word to hear!
-TRUST God

Matthew 1:24-25
24When Joseph woke up, he did what the angel of the Lord had commanded him and took Mary home as his wife. 25But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a son. And he gave him the name Jesus.

-We worry about making the right decisions when God has already laid it out
-Everyone looks for the blessed life
-God wants to give it to us
-We have a responsibility to trust
-Don't follow skin and flesh
-Follow God
-WATCH the miracle
-Joseph got to name Jesus
-He saw the greatest miracle of all time
-We will get to see the fruits of what we do

Blog of Blogs...

I have really been wanting to just make a blog covering a bunch of stuff that is going on right now so here it goes.

NewSpring:
I watched a sermon by Perry Noble today. It was an extremely powerful message about sexual temptation. This is a pastor that is not afraid to take it to a level that most other pastors try to stay away from. The truth behind sexual immorality is so blatantly and bluntly presented. It helps to reveal and back up what we hear on a daily basis about all this. We hear it from our parents, we hear it from our pastors, and from other authority figures. They say, "Wait until you're married." "Trust me, I have been there and you don't want the consequences." "Nothing good comes of it." Just to hear it straight from the scripture and hear it in such a truthful and passionate way makes me think and realize that the fight that I go through everyday with this temptation is actually worth while. I absolutely loved this message! I recommend it to ANYONE. It doesn't matter if you are or are not struggling with sexual sin. This message WILL get you thinking.

In the Future:
ALL WILL BE PEACE AND HAPPINESS!
.......lol
Yea, going into this Chrsitmas season and having the opportunity to spend so much time away from school has really pumped me up. There is so much that I want to get done while I am home.

1. I have five new books that I will be reading when I get back:
Digital Video Secrets
How NOT to Write a Screenplay
Mere Christianity
Directing Actors
The Five C's of Cinematography
This is a tall order but it is something that I am passionate about getting done. I want to use every minute that God has given me to learn all that I can. I want to use this knowledge to further His kingodm and make His name famous.

2. I am working on a new site design that will really break down what I want to represent me and my site. Over the past couple of designs I have been getting more and more focused on the design that will really work for me. I will be going with the slogan "God, Film, and Everything Else." Sound familiar? lol Anyway, there will be so much that is going to be starting on that new site. Just to name a couple is, live devotions, dynamic video intros, chatroom, and of course...NEW VIDEOS! haha! All of this will be coming to you next week. The only official thing that will be happening next week is the live devotions. So please tune in for that. I will post on here with official times for them.

3. As far as filming goes, I want to plan something over the break. If you have any ideas or think that you can help with the project through acting then please contact me. I am not sure how extensive this project will be, but I hope that we can make a good quality movie.

The Revolution
As you all have probably been hearing, there is a revolution coming! I cannot wait to see what those crazy Barefooters have planned. I will be coming back for the holiday season and will be there for the Revolution. If you are thinking that I know anything about this and am gonna fill you in, then you are sadly mistaken! lol I have not been kept in the loop as far as this is concerned. I jsut know that this is going to be big. When Christ came to this earth, he started a revolution. A revolution that was quickly killed within the next millenia by religion and hypocracy within the church itself. I believe that we (the church) are the ones that have been chosen in this generation to restart and revive this massive revolution that originally flipped the world at that time upside down. I believe that this entire nation can be turned inside out by what this revolution will bring. This revolution will bring ture, unconditional love. Something that this world NEVER sees these days.

Canvas Church
I have found my home here in Savannah. This is a church plant that will be kicking off in January. They are a group that believe strongly in reaching and changing the lives of people who don't know the love of Christ. I went to a small group tonight with their core group and got to learn a lot about their beliefs and their vision. They are very contemporary. Their pastor seems very dynamic and passionate. They believe in networking with other churches. They are fans of NewSpring, Elevation, and they have heard of Barefoot :) so they are cool in my book. But yea, they are nondenominational and just seem to be going in exactly the direction that I want to go in. Check out their site here!

I am loving this right now. I believe that I have found what God wants for me. I am learning more things here than I ever could have hoped to learn at home and it seems like God has put me in my niche. I finally have a place that I feel like I belong in and can grow.

Anticipation...aggrivation

I am really bored here now. I am really ready to come home and stat my long and relaxing break. I have so many plans and things that I want to do over this break. It is going to be so satisfying to be able to have the time to do what I want to do. There have been so many instances where I have wanted to go out and film things but I have no way of getting there or I just don't have the time for it. I am planning out things that I want to do while I am back. I have new ideas for the website and I have plenty of things that I want to just get out and film. I am trying to think of random ideas for short films that I can shoot while I am back, so if anyone has any ideas please shoot em at me.

Another exciting thing that is coming is up is the possibility of getting a new camera and some new equipment. my birthday/Christmas is coming up and there are so many things that I am learning about here at SCAD that would take my filming to a new level. About the new camera. I am looking at selling the XL2. It is a Like New camera that I want to sell for around $3000. I want to use that money to buy a new Canon XH-A1. I want to upgrade to HD and that camera seems like the best option out there. It has an impressive amount of manual control and it has a lot of the same features that I loved about the XL2. It is also about half the size of the XL2, therefore it will open up a whole new aspect to my film making. I will be able to throw that thing in a backpack and bike to pretty much anywhere around Savannah and just film. This is something I could NEVER have done with the XL2 and is one of the annoyances that I am dealing with daily.

Church Notes

Sorry, started mid sermon...

We must have the face of a HUMANITARIAN
-We must reflect so much love that people are AMAZED

Do I love everyone?
Really?

Who do you have a hard time loving?

John 1:14-18
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15John testifies concerning him. He cries out, saying, "This was he of whom I said, 'He who comes after me has surpassed me because he was before me.' " 16From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another. 17For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ. 18No one has ever seen God, but God the One and Only, who is at the Father's side, has made him known.

Phil 2:5-11
5
Your attitude should be the same as that of Christ Jesus:
6Who, being in very nature[a] God,
did not consider equality with God something to be grasped,
7but made himself nothing,
taking the very nature[b] of a servant,
being made in human likeness.
8And being found in appearance as a man,
he humbled himself
and became obedient to death—
even death on a cross!
9Therefore God exalted him to the highest place
and gave him the name that is above every name,
10that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow,
in heaven and on earth and under the earth,
11and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord,
to the glory of God the Father.

God's glory is SO far beyond our understanding!
But we can reveal His glory by:
-Serving Others

Sorry, they are very incomplete.....I'll be on the ball better next week.

Big Update

Ugh! I can't believe I have already slacked off on updating this blog! Anyway, I went home this past weekend. It was pretty amazing! I got to relax and eat some real food. I went to a few of my favorite restaurants and ate some of my favorite foods. I went to do early voting and waited in line for like two hours. I got to go to my church again, too! I love Barefoot Church and I miss the people there so much! I also got myself a girlfriend while I was there, too. I am going back out with Nikki Talerico. I love her very much and I can't wait to see her again at Thanksgiving!

Now on to more recent events. This election was a big let down. I am really worried about what will happen in the next few years. There are just so many things that Obama stands for that I really don't agree with. People here however were celebrating. There was a complete and total rave in the courtyard here at my dorm. There are definitely a lot of Obama followers here at SCAD.

A word to any fellow Christians reading this blog. We need to not fear the upcoming years. God already knew this was gonna happen and He still has a plan. Just because Obama became president does not mean that God has given up on us. We need to continue to look to Christ for guidance and pray for wisdom in the upcoming years. Not only wisdom for ourselves, but wisdom for our newly elected leaders. If we are so worried about their decisions then we need to start helping in anyway that we possibly can. Prayer is a powerful thing and we can use it daily. Please, if you are not already, spend some time on your knees each day praying for our country and our new leaders. God was not wringing His hands together over the outcome of this election, so why should we be worrying about it when we have Him!?
