Please, only one item per number, i.e. is salvation or faith no. 1. You might have to give it some thought.

1. Peace.
10. Salvation is of the utmost importance and can only be attained by having a clean heart, which is the only way to sincerely love one another and the only way to keep Jesus’ commandments. Thus, salvation and love are essentially the same and fall under the same category.
9. Faith does not mean blind faith, but faith based on experience (Philippians 3:8, 10).
6. Charity is good, but deeds must be done from a clean heart to be counted as charity.
1. Peace cannot be achieved by human means; it is futile and not long lasting. Thus, it is of a lesser priority since only God can bring ultimate peace.

A Choice to Cherish $14.99 During a cold Montana Christmas, Alan cuts down and decorates a Christmas tree for himself and his dying grandfather, George. As his present, Alan may choose one of eight keepsakes of his grandfathers. Yet before he can choose, he must read a story George wrote about each keepsake. Through these stories, Alan learns the secrets of his grandfather’s life. From the Publisher During a cold Montana Christmas Alan cuts down and decorates a Christmas tree for himself and his dying grandfather, George. However, they have no gifts. George opens a safe containing eight keepsakes: a baseball, a bronzed baby shoe, a key chain, a marathon finisher’s certificate, a necklace, a Santa Claus suit, a rifle, and a stack of $100 dollar bills. Alan may choose one of the objects for his gift, but there’s a catch. Each day he must read a story his grandfather has written about each keepsake before making his choice. Through these stories, Alan learns the secrets of his grandfather’s life — his shame, his triumphs, his love for God, and the reason behind a family breach. From Publishers Weekly Debut novelist Maki (a pastor who has co-written three previous nonfiction books on the Vietnam experiences of a Navy SEAL) explores the age-old theme of forgiveness in this simple–and sometimes simplistic–tale of death and discovery. Although the author and main character share the same name, which is initially confusing, the book is a novel and not an autobiographical account. The Christian-themed plot finds college-aged Alan Maki arriving in Montana to stay with his dying grandfather over Christmas vacation. Alan has not seen his estranged grandfather in 10 years, so he feels both apprehensive and excited, hoping to learn more about the fateful choices made by his father and grandfather. As Alan decorates the Christmas tree, his grandfather George directs him to place eight items under the tree, from which Alan may choose one after readin |
